Features

Every YsDam Cold Plunge is based on sound design principles for ease of use and maintainability. This helps ensure that your experience isn’t just frosty but also simple and enjoyable.

Compact design

The YsDam Cold Plunge tub is designed to be compact, without feeling cramped when you take your dip. At 0.81 m wide it fits through a sliding door, but not through a regular 750 mm house door. It is also long enough for people taller than 2 m to comfortably sit with their knees bent, keeping the whole body in the chilly water.

Easy setup

The YsDam Cold Plunge tub has standardised ¾” (20 mm) fittings with hose couplings for a simple connection and setup.

Easy draining

The standardised ¾” (20 mm) female threaded discharge on the inside allows a standard garden-hose connector to be fastened onto it. Simply stop your unit, screw on the hose connector, and hook up your garden hose. Place the hose somewhere in the garden or in a drain like the shower or bath. Start the pump again and keep the chiller off, and your tub will be empty in less than 10 minutes!

Overflow protection

With the slimline float valve included in your YsDam Cold Plunge, you can just connect your garden hose, open the tap, and walk away. There is no need to rush back to an overflowing cold plunge; the float valve has got your back. You can also adjust how full you want the tub by adjusting the float valve behind the stainless steel cover.

Stylish wooden finishes

The wood used in the YsDam Cold Plunge is AA Grade, 100% Malaysian hardwood, bonded with a WBP (Water/Boil proof) glue. No poplar wood is used in the layers, ensuring higher quality. All the wood is dual-coated with a rot and mould-resistant primer and yacht wood varnish to ensure durability and style. The areas where you might step or hold on when climbing in and out have extra grit added to help you keep your grip. Yes, a little step is included, so you don’t have to dive into your plunge!

Insulation and handling

The YsDam Cold Plunge is insulated at its base and around the exterior to ensure it stays frosty. The stainless steel fold-away handles give you a hand when placing your tub or moving it to its new icy home.

Convenient lid and stainless interior

While the outer bath is galvanised metal, giving the YsDam its unique and eclectic plaas dam look, the inner bath is made from stainless steel for durability and hygiene. The 180-degree bidirectional lid lets you open either half of the plunge onto the other half without having to remove it entirely. If you want to take the plunge with someone else, you can easily remove the whole lid and get cold communally.

Cold plunge models

The only differences between our two YsDam models are the chiller size and the water treatment included. Both use the same tub and work without ice.

The Personal and Light Commercial Use model has a ½ HP chiller that only cools, from 20 °C down to 2 °C. It is made for your everyday household, where the parents and teenagers want to take a dip once a day, and for lighter commercial applications like physiotherapists, biokineticists and rehab centres. It will chill a fresh batch of tap water from 20 °C to 5 °C in 18 hours and can handle 3 to 8 people per hour. It has a strainer filter but no further water treatment, so it will have to be drained and refilled once a week, depending on how many people use it and how often.

The Full Commercial Use model has a 1 HP chiller that cools and heats, from 44 °C down to 2 °C, and water treatment with ozone and a filter. It can handle 10 to 15 people per hour, without its temperature rising above the desired setpoint. This all depends on how hot your ambient air is. If it is the middle of summer, in a humid environment, then the setpoint can’t be too low. To ensure your gym or facility can handle 20 people per hour at any ambient condition, ask YsDam to do a custom design for you!
